I remeber all those. I just read Rebecca, 1776, Kane and Abel, and The sun Also Rises. I really recommend Kane and Abel as well as Rebecca. If you like mystery/romance Rebecca!

yeah the best assigned reading i had was harry potter! ^_^ go figure. lol i did it for a lot of my book reports back in sixth grade. we did weekly book reports and they had to be read in 2 weeks ^_^ i did the first 4 harry potter books for the first 4 book reports that year (book 5 wasn't out yet) and then i had to find other stuff to read so i read the Fear Street Series by R.L. Stine which had me hooked.

cool you were assigned Harry Potter? I just read a book called The Killer Angels for a class on American war history and its the best telling of a historical event I think I've ever read. I was really into. Its a good book.

I've had to read A Tale of Two Cities, Slaughterhouse-Five, Cyrano de Bergerac, and The Autobiography of Malcolm X... the first 3 were awesome, but I'm struggling to get through tAoMX within the next month... >.<

i have to read Frankenstein, Of mice and men, myths and legends, and either a Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's court, or great expectations. i have already read the myths and legends books because i love that kinda stuff. Frankensteins is ok so far, not really into it. i got halfway through CYIKAC but then i got distracted and I read another book. most likely the best book i ever read for summer reading was The life and times of James Thuber, It was harlerious that book or the myths and legends book.
