Of course Harry needs the upper hand. Its either Kill or Die! what would you prefer? He needs all the help he can get from Dumbledore, his friends, and the Order, but ultimately the final move will come from within himself. Maybe Harry will Kill ( ;D) Voldemort and then die himself. Hehe. Like Golum at the end of The Return the/a (whatever) King. ;D

it is "THE" and Smeagle/Gollum had it coming. he had to much gollum in him....
anyways, kill is such a strong word.... destroy is stronger...
well one will get the other.... eventually. it might not even happen the the 7 book series.... that would suck.

nah. It has to. Rowling has said that she was just gonna write the 7 books and thats all. I hope she writes more though. Anyway, Harry is going to kill voldemort in the 7th book. in the middle of it.

no, i mean, what if she dosn't really tell us he gets killed, but drops a bunch of clues at the end of the series?

That would be extremely annoying. But I really don't think she would be that cruel.
Would she?

No, she wouldn't do that...by doing so she'd earn the hatred of all the people who read HP all over the world...unless she want to become public enemy no 1...nah...

just a thought. i mean it could be something like
"harry raised his wand at voldemort in ultimate loathing, as dumbledore finally hit that ground. swimming with emotions, harry fired of a single curse.....
the end"

It could happen.... That would be a really dramatic ending to the series.

Yes, quite dramatic; only I'm not sure if thats her style as such...I mean, after that I don't think she'd wanna leave any loose ends left...

well, you know like at the end of the book "Holes"?
he tells us to fill in the rest of the holes ourself. if she dropped us off like that, it wouldn't be to hard to figure out the rest of the mysteries and stuff.
