OK, we all know that Dumbledore is powerful. BUT, how did he get so powerful? Did he have to learn everything? How can he see through invisibility cloaks? I dunno.....I was just pondering that......

i agree there is alot we dont know about the teacher, for one he must be over 100, so does that mean he still has the philosophers/sorcerrors stone? if not how can he still be alive.
maybe he has secret powers of his own

JK has said that Wizards and witches get alot older than muggles cuz they have magic in their blood! Dumbledore is around 150 years old!

it was in an online chat which I found on mugglenet long before the fifth book... The chat is not there anymore, but the fact is on this page under General facts not disclosed in the books.. www.mugglenet.com/books/booksix/facts.shtml

Yeah, I think somewhere in the books he tells us what year he was born in. I bet that Dumbledore destroyed the Sorcers Stone but got some of the effects of the stone just by handling it for a period of time. Thats my opinion how Dumbledore can be so old.

I don't think he would have used the Philosopher's Stone. Not his style.

No I don't mean using it, I mean when he took it away some of the effects might have accidentally worn on to him giving him some of the stone's power.

It's an idea, but I don't think the Stone works thataway. You need to drink the Elixir of Life for anything to work.

Hmm... Interesting!?
Well we dont know anything about his past or family or anything do we so there is not much we can say it could all be determined by this!
Maybe his power comes from the old saying the older you get the wiser you are (dont quote me)
So because he is fairly old he has just gained his powers through age and experience!?
Thats all i can think of got no other ideas at the moment!

It could be that he just grows powerful with age, but he has many special talents, and he is very unusual....maybe his power will be explained in the next books.

Yeah that seems likely because we also need to find out why Voldemort fears him too!! So maybe that has something to do with it somehow!!??

I bet he ahd to learn everything. And about the invisibility cloaks, well, he knows how to do Legilimency right, well, what he can do is just sense some person there or something and read their mind to know who they are... ;D
