Remember when Malfoy mentioned to Crabbe and Goyle (actually Harry and Ron) about Dark items that were hidden beneath the floorboards of his mansion? And what about the scene in Borgin and Burkes when Mr. Malfoy is selling some of those Dark objects?
What happened to them, and what do you think is significant about these Dark objects hidden in the Malfoy Mansion?

Maybe it's more of Voldemort's stuff. Like the diary. And as to what happened to them, I say they're still there. Lucius Malfoy is in Azkaban and Narcissa might've cast a spell on the floorboards and stuff and yeah.

I think there might be some stuff related to dark magic which he doesn't want to sell to Borgin and Burkes or voldemort-related stuff. And they are probably still there bcoz nothing has been mentioned about Arthur Weasley finding anything in his raids.

Yes, because Harry probably forgot to mention to Mr. Weasley where exactly the objects were hidden.
Do you think the diary had anything to do with the business Mr. Malfoy had with Borgin ?

I don't think so. he wouldn't dare to sell something given directly by Voldemort, especially if he knew that it would make the chamber of secrets open again.

I don't know but it is probably dark objects most dark wizards have and Mr. Weasley got them because they did not conduct a raid by hand like a muggle. They may have a protective charm over them to keep them fron being sensed or summoned or found in which case I think it they are probably used in tourchering mud-bloods or something equally disgusting. I am almost positive however that it is not another horcrux because even voldermort would not hind two in the same place with an idiot like Malfoy and if he had he'd have them back already.

Good point about the Horcrux and yeah, the part about the raid, I thought so, too.

Maybe Voldemort didn't actually give the diary to Malfoy - I think Borgin had something to do with it. We have already established that Borgin is not on the good side, so he may have been keeping the diary for Malfoy in his shop.

perhaps malfoy couldn't resist buying something that had belonged to voldemort. aurora is right, borgin definitely has something to do with something.

Well we have had a few glimpses of Borgin throughout the series, and it's all got to do with dealings in Dark Magic. So he is most likely a Dark wizard, or even on Voldmort's side. I wish we could find out what the Malfoy's are hiding. There's definitely something unexplained going on, such as the Unbrekable Vow and the Malfoys' alleigiance to the Dark Side.

I thought DD explained how Lucius got the diary. I'm confused. are you guys saying Borgin may have sold it to malfoy?

I am confused too. I think it is clearly mentioned in HBP that Voldemort gave the diary to Lucius and asked him to keep it safe. But Lucius, who believed that Voldemort was dead, decided to use the diary for his own benefit when he realised what it could do.

yeah and of course he sold it becuase he had no idea what it was but knew it could do no good for Ginny. I'm just never clear on whether he was acting under vold instructions or not.

i doubt he was acting under voldie's instructions if he thought voldie was six feet under. but then again, the death eaters generally aren't particularly sane

lol why would he give ginny the diary? maybe he just knew it couldn't be good or vold had told him that it would purge the school of mudbloods before. that makes sense because he obviously did know it was a horcrux but knew what effect it could have. so he wasn't acting under vold's instructions...makes sense now. I bet the other vanishing cabinet was kept @ the malfoys before draco had it fixed and used it!
