what does "foreshadow" actually mean? i've seen the word crop up here and there, and i managed to get the gist of most things anyway, but what does it mean?

It means to give hints to an ending. Like if i would say The Death Eaters were looking suspiciously at Ron. at the beginning of a story and near the end. "Avada Kedavra! yelled one of the Death Eaters. You'd realised that you had clues of what was going to happen
