Me and my friend had a campaign a while ago, to have Ralph Fiennes cast as Lupin. (Because is this or is this not, the smouldering glance of an extremely sexy werewolf?) But anyway, they cast Thewliss as Lupin and now they've cast Ralph Fiennes as Voldemort for Goblet of Fire, which means that my friend and I have a problem. "So, Ralph Fiennes is going to be in the next Harry Potter movie..." "They re-cast Lupin? Awesome! I mean the other guy did an okay job, but... wait. Lupin's not in Goblet of Fire!" "I know, Fiennes is playing Voldemort. I am going to be sitting in the theatre lusting after Voldemort. Do you know how wrong that is?" "You lusted after Voldemort in Chamber of Secrets." "No, I.... Okay, that? That was different. He was like seventeen years old. And cute. And also smirking. There is an exemption clause for that. He didn't look like a bald, red eyed, snake-man. Plus everybody else in that movie was like, twelve years old. You want me to lust after little kids, huh? Is that what you want?" "Okay, but you're going to be fine with this next movie, because like you said, he's going to be all bald and snakey. They're going to make him unattractive is my point." "Make Ralph Fiennes unattractive? Please! The make-up department can only do so much." "Well, maybe with CGI..." "But his voice will still be sexy. So now I'm going to be sitting there thinking 'Well he's not the kind of guy I could take home to meet the parents, but I want him to call me up and talk dirty to me.'" Yeah, I guess it would be a little weird if you were attracted to Ralph Fiennes, since you're closer in age to Dan and Rupert!
You have to admit, he's better looking than the guy that ended up playing Lupin though. That mustache... EURGH!

Heh. My friend just used another part of that same conversation as her away message on AIM. Essy: Y'know, if Ralph Fiennes played his cards right, he could have me. My friend: Oh please! If he played his cards wrong he could have you! Essy: If he played Jenga he could have me! My friend: If he played the banjo he could have you! (We're awfully silly sometimes.) Anyway as a result of that conversation, I now have the truly bizarre image in my head of Voldemort playing the banjo. I thought I should come back to this thread and share with you, in case I hadn't tweaked you out enough. As for teenage Sirius? I used to want Jonathon Rhys Meyers to do it, but he's probably too old now. |

I'm terrible in movie theatres. I'm always whispering snarky comments to my friends. Some of the stuff we came up with during the Prisoner of Azkaban movie doesn't bear repeating!
And when I saw Chamber of Secrets the second time, I ended up taking a notebook into the theatre with me and making notes for my movie review!
As for the first movie. I went to a pretty late showing, but there were still some really young kids in the theatre. So when Madam Hooch delivered her speech about 'grasp your broom firmly, you don't want your hand flying off the end...' I just bust out laughing. (Since as we've established, I'm very immature with a pretty dirty mind.) And this woman gave me a filthy look, like I was corrupting her kids. And all I did was laugh! It was the movie being dodgy, not me! And I did wait until a night-time showing when I figured there'd be less little kids about.

When I watch movies, I feel like that all the time!
This is why I normally try to catch late showings or to see films when they're almost out of theatres. So I don't bug quite so many people by busting out laughing and whispering dorky comments and things.

Lol, I always whisper stupid comments to my friends... like this one time, I dunno, it was one of the football scenes from A Cinderella Story, and the ref or whoever was like "ONE TWO THREE HUT!" and all the players squatted at the exact same time, like they're supposed to, but me and my friend just BURST out laughing, and it wasnt even that funny!! We just started uncontrollably laughing, and laughing until like the next 2 rows turned around to look at us, and only then, we just tried to stifle our giggles.. it was just one of those weird moments:  |
