One series of books that i love almost as much as harry potter(and that's saying something!) is the bartimaeus trilogy:
the amulet of samarkand
the golem's eye
the other place
the third book isn't out yet, but the first two are wonderful!! has anyone here read them? mind you, they're pretty long-around the lenth of book 6.

THEY ARE THE BEST BOOKS EVER. ok, well besides all my other favorites.
I haven't read the 2nt one yet because I am waiting for it to come out in paperback, but it won't till febuary.. *tear* I don't want to buy hardcover because I have the 1st one in paperback, and I want them to match, and it costs a lot more.
so don't say anything!! but I really loved the first one, and I like the footnotes!

cool!! I still haven't read the second one. is it out in paperback yet??
guys the first one is about a boy who is being trained to be a wizard. he absolutly HATES his trainer and a couple other wizards he wants to get them back. so he summons this deamon thing I forget the correct term for it. and remember this is VERY Advanced magic, a kid should not have been able to do this. but he does.
and the boy and deamon try and steal this necklace back.. and hide it... and get back at people.
it is reallly good! but you sort of have to read it to get. it would be a really bad book to wait for the last minute to read it.

i've got da first one, i was waiting for the golem's eye to be out in paperback but its hard for me to get to a decent bookshop (considering i live God Knows Where) and i didn't get a chance last time i was in one. is it better than da amulet of samarkand?
PS: has anyone actually READ ptolemy's gate?

I got the first book in the series today without relizing it, lol. but then i saw it was this tilogy and and thought "Hey, they all said this was good"
