With the announcement of JKR's pregnancy, we got the assurance that this will not conflict with the writing of The Half Blood Prince.
How can that kind of promise be made? Many things related to her pregnancy could keep her from writing. She could get sick, tired, or (I hope not) there could be a problem with her developing baby.
Her personal life has kept her from writing before, and she can't tell us that there is no way that it won't now. Unless, she's given herself a much farther away release date than we're expecting.
Your thoughts?

I'm sorry but that sounds a bit selfish. So what if she delays the book a bit? It's probably worth the wait. all i want is for her to have a healthy baby, and if that means a delayed book, well thats better than a sick baby right?

NOTE: Before you read this, I assure you that I'm not offending anyone! ;D
Sweetdream1414 has a point. The delay of a book is less worse than a sick baby. And besides, it's going to be a long time till the baby's born.
WioK has a point too. There are some certain happenings that might happen to her that might collide with her career.
All in all, I'm more in Sweetdream's side. It's better for a delayed book rather than a sick baby.
P.S. - WioK, I don't think your selfish. ;D

There shouldn't have been any sides.
I wasn't starting an arguement.
Yes, I was being kinda selfish, but I'd never want anything bad to happen to anyone, especially a baby. That's why I said that "I hope not" after I stated that a problem could happen.
All in all, I'm very anxious for the book to come out, and very happy for Jo.

I can understand why some of us may have some concerns and I know all of us are very anxious for the release of Book 6 but to me it doesn't really matter. Personally, I'm very thankful that Jo has kept up with her writing as much as she has. I mean, if I was Jo and had the amount of money she has I think it would be kind of hard for me to stay on track and keep writing. Perhaps that sounds bad, but if I was in her position I would be starting my own businesses, patenting my ideas, conducting meetings with Microsoft ( ), and traveling the world. JKR has hardly done any of that and as much as I don't want to wait another 2 or more years for book 6, I think JKR has the right to write when she wants, as much as she wants, and release the books when she's ready. Go Jo! And good luck with your family ;D

That is a very good point dan. I think that Jo has the righ to have a life and to give life and she can write those books on her own time. I for one am very excited for her. I think it is nice that she can find time to have a baby, write a book and then promote it. J.K. Rowling has been a role model to me and a lot of other people out there and I say WHO CARES IF SHE'S DELAYING THE BOOK OR NOT! She should be happy and I hope she has a very healthy baby.

I don't know... I think the baby is more important than the books, and if she needs time off writing, I don't want her to feel pressured by her fans to continue. Of course I can't wait for the next book to come out...but the baby deserves a full-time mother, and we have tons of other books to read until HP6 comes out.

WioK, I thought the exact same thing.
I don't mind waiting a bit longer for the book if that's what I have to do, but for JK to say that the baby isn't going to affect the book just seems a bit silly. I mean it's bound to!

Thank God someone sees what I mean. I too can wait for the book, I just don't want to. The baby has to come first! It just bothers me that we are told that the baby can't delay the progress of the book.
Really, it can, and will. I just hope baby JKR is born healthy, and happy.

Cool. I didn't want to come off as some kind of heartless freak. I was just trying to get others opinions.
I want my book, but not at a child's expense.

Yeah I agree, though I don't think the baby should affect her writing too much, at least not until it's actually born.
