Do you think a movie will eventually be made for all 7 books? What is your opinion on recasting the actors and actresses once the current one's grow out of their roles?

I don't think a HP movie 5, 6, or 7 should be made.
Because I don't think the movie's would be as good if they had to get a new person to play Harry.
I think the 4th movie is going to be really awesome! But it will HAVE to be atleast 4 hours long to be any good.

Ok, well I definitely don't think they should change the actors and actresses 4 Harry, Ron, Hermione, and people - it would never b "right".

well JKR said that she thinks all 7 will be made into movies after the first one did so well. I don't think they really need to change actors. they won't grow out of the roles. that's the whole point of writing the books one year at a time. even if they only make a movie every 2 years, the actors won't be much older than their character, so why change them? Isn't it bad enough that they had to replace Dumbledore?

I don't mind the Dumbledore replacement. Gambon is a good actor, though I think Patrick Stewart would have been an awesome Dumbledore.
My opinion on the movies .. well, I think 4 will be made with the same actors. After that, I think they might make the movies, but they will be those low budget straight to video cassette/dvd releases - not theatrical. Maybe the first one with different characters might make the theater, but I doubt it will last after that. The series will NOT succeed without the same kids. Every time they try to replace the actors in popular children's films for sequals and it never works out. Neverending Story - awesome movie, the 2nd and 3rd - TERRIBLE. hehe Then there was the Casper movies .. good affects and actors in the first one, second and third one were terrible. It would be a big mistake to use different kids, especially since a massive number of people saw the movie before reading the books, and the characters were then permanently represented in their minds by the actors that played them. I personally know this because I had no interest in the HP books until I saw the movie, THEN i read the books. Reading through all of the books I always used the actors in my head to play the scenes out because the movie imprinted the actors into my head as being the characters they played. If it changed, it wouldn't be the same.
I don't think there is any need to film any more than 4 movies. They may have trouble keeping the movies rated PG if they go past 4 anyway. I agree that they should have no problems using the actors even if they are older than the book character. There is rarely a movie or TV show with child roles where the actor is NOT older than the character they are playing! Make up and proper direction can work wonders with aging down actors.

Perhaps they wouldn't be any good. But what if they made movies 6 and 7 as cartoons?

Just because I think they will decide that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are too old for their parts. And then they will get new actors.
I don't think anyone will like the movies with new actors. So I think they will stop making them.

But JKR made a point in this book in saying things like Ron grew up 6 inches and Harry had (the thing the boys have in the neck, i don't remember the name, THe A's apple?) and when they were with the centaurs one of them said that he looked almost adult....Maybe she did that so they will keep the same actors for the 5th movie.
Even if they cast new actors, I would always watch the movies. You can always find new interpretations and hints on them.. ;D

it would be sad in an amusing way, like it will make it seem like they are 2 foot tall, because well thats what i alrways think that in cartoons they seem smaller... anyway how will they pull off the new dumbledore? wont it be obvious, dont they have the technology to plsnt the od ones face on it, though i guess that would be disrespectful to him wouldnt it, yeah i hope they keep the same actors, cos ginnys kinda cute, and i wouldnt mind seeing her grow up anyway i was going to say more but avada wrote all i was gonna say lol

I think that Richard Harris made the perfect image of Dumbledore, but if Michael Gambon stays as Dumbledore for all the remaining movies, he might seem better.
