Book 1: cover illustration by Thomas Taylor Book 2: cover illustration from original artwork by Cliff Wright book 3: cover illustration from original artwork by Cliff Wright book4: Cover illustration by Giles Greenfield Book 5: cover illustration by Jason C0ckcroft i can't seem to find an About the Author in the backs of 1-4 but there are price list for "Wondrous editions available in the celebrated Harry Potter series" and fan mail ^-^ About the Author from book 5 dust jacket
J.K (Joanne Katheen) Rowling has written fiction since she was a child, and always wanted to be an author. Her parents loved reading, and their house in Chepstow was full of books . In fact, J.k Rowling wrote her first 'book' at the age of six - a story about a rabbit called Rabbit!
The idea for Harry Potter occurred to J.k Rowling on the train from Manchester to London, where she says Harry Potter "just strolled into my head fully formed", and by the time she arrived at King's Cross, many of the characters had taken shape. During the next five years she outlined the plots for each book and began writing the first in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone, which was first published by Bloomsbury in 1997. The other Harry Potter titles: Harry potter and the Camber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, followed. J.k Rowling has also written two other companion books, Quiddich Through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in aid of Comic Relief.
do you want any more info from the british books? And next time i'm in town i'll look to see who designed the adult book (black and white photos)

I don't like these books from Bloomsbury, they don't have a really good look. I like those that are illustrated by Mary GrandPre. I don't have that one

Oh, you mean those from Bloomsbury? I don't like format of pages, it's too small and the letters are a bit too small, I like other ones.
