[glow=red,2,300]OK, I don't think I am the only person who doesn't get this..Harry is called a half-blood in the books...but, his mother and father were a witch and wizard, so doesn't that make him pure blood? I mean, I know that Lily was muggle born, so Harry isn't pureblood because he has muggle grand parents, but he isn't half blood, is he? Surely he would be like..3/4 blood or something...maybe if you do a family tree you can work it out..ah well, let me know if you understand it, thanks! [/glow]

Yeah, I really don't get that either...But I have always being confused with the 3/4 thing.... I guess that because Lily was muggle-born I didn't really matter if she was witch or not..He still had half of his blood from muggles.....

Actually, its probably just because Tom Riddle is brainless..Or Voldie doesn't consider Muggle-borns as wizards/witches, so it is like they are a muggle.

[glow=red,2,300]Yeh...because, presumably muggleborns have muggle blood, but they have magic from somewhere else...maybe that is what JKR means...maybe she means that muggleborns are technically muggles, but with magic somewhere not in their blood, so that would make Harry a halfblood...[/glow]

But, wait there a minute, u said: "maybe she means that muggleborns are technically muggles, but with magic somewhere not in their blood, so that would make Harry a halfblood... " Stop with that though a minute, they get it from somewhere else, wonder where? Maybe, ........, no I have no idea, although, I did as a kid once flow in the air for a half of an hour, and I'm not kidding here...............

I know I've done some weird stuff kinda like that. ever played "light as a feather, stiff as a board"... I'm telling you, it works. no lie!
"18 blinker" is freaky, but it works too. "spirit war"... there's a game called "spirit" where you use regular playing cards. it's a little weird...
but anyway, back to topic. I think what they mean by half-blood is half of Harry's blood (or DNA) comes from a pureblood family, and the other half comes from a muggle family. that would make him half-blood. it doesn't matter what his mother and father were, they're taking into account his entire ancestry

"light as a feather, stiff as a board" is a game where one person lays on the ground and 3-4 people surround them putting their index and middle fingers under them. they all concentrate and imagine the person lying on the ground is as "light as a feather" then raise their fingers trying to get the person to float in the air. it works.
"18 Blinker" is you take a flashlight or a lighter and flick it it on and off 18 times right in front of someone's eyes. after the last time, look straight into the person's eyes and you can see how they are going to die.
"spirit war" is you take a flashlight, say a number they ask a question. if you said the number 4, after you ask the question flick the flashlight off 4 times. when you've done that you're supposed to know the answer as if someone whispered it in your ear.
"spirit" is just a card game where you ask yes or no questions of the spirits. Hearts and Clubs mean yes, Diamonds and Spades mean no.

[glow=red,2,300]Does 18 Blinker actually work? I know Light as a Feather does, but I never knew about 18 Blinker..[/glow]

yeah, it works if you do it right. It may take a few tries before it works for you, but you also have ot keep a close watch on their eyes because that's where you'll see it. it's pretty freaky, but cool.
of course, there's no proof that what you see is actually what's really going to happen. I've only done it with my friends and none of them have died (thankfully) so it could be wrong.

[glow=red,2,300]Creepy...I'll have to try that, it sounds interesting...I don't care how I die, as long as I am not burried alive...I would hate that...but, back to the Half blood thing with Harry, I am still not sure about that [/glow]

I guess it has to do with the fact that Lily was a muggle born. Even though she was a witch, she still had muggle blood to Tom Riddle. Therefore Harry was half and half to him, just like he was. To be completly honest, i think that Riddle was just jealous of Harry.
